Hi All!
I know that I haven't been on much recently, but I do have my excuses! Anyway, I am officially back with the programme now and have spent most of today trying to sort out this blog. This is a post that I have been meaning to do for quite a while now, so I am pretty excited to be doing it!
On a side note just before I begin, the webcam on my laptop has reached it's ending day. So, until I can find a cheapish but good quality camera, these posts are going to be pretty much full of text. So, my apologies for that in advance.
The first pen that I am going to talk about is the Uni Ball Eye NEEDLE. I really, really, REALLY like these pens. I have two of them, one in black and one in blue. I use them so much because they are so amazing to writte with! They dry pretty quickly and so don't smudge as much as some pens do, but I would be careful if you're a leftie. ;-) The bleed through is about average. You can definately see it through the other side of white 80gsm paper, put it certainly isn't as bad as some of the other pens I'll talk about. A pack of 4 of these pens (Black, Blue, Red, Green) are about £4 at ASDA, but I am sure they will be cheaper elsewhere.
Now for the Uni Ball FINE. I have this pen in Orange. I really like it, but definately not as much as the NEEDLE.What I do like about this pen, though, is that there is an indicator on the side displaying how much ink you have left. I think that it will have a rather long life as it has had quite a bit of usage and the ink indicator still has not really gone down. This cost me £2.25 at Paperchase.
Thirdly, the Liquidly Ink Roller by ASDA which comes in red, blue and black. I have tried all of these colours (they come in a pack) and the only one which I like is the red one. I would never use the blue or the black. This pen smudges a bit, about average smudginess. However, the real drawback with this pen in the bleed through. It can be read clearly through the other side of the page. I believe a pack of these pens (2 Black, 2 Red, 1 Blue) is 80p from ASDA.
Next up is the FriXion Ball Point Pen. Well, it didn't seem to have a very long life. I only had it for a few months before it went and died on me. I remember it being a good pen before it did die though. I did not get to test it for it's smudge factor or the bleed through. A pack of two costs £3 at ASDA.
Finally, I am going to talk a little about the Pilot V-Pen. This is a disposable fountain pen which I purchased for £3.50 at Paperchase. I absolutely LOVE this pen; the way that it writes, the fluidity of the ink, the colour, the design, the EVERYTHING!!! There is hardly any bleed through and there is almost no smudging to it. I am definately going to get more of these pens.
So, right now I am awaiting a new range of stock at my local Paperchase, I am updating my blog and changing it around a bit, I bought a new orgaaniser from Paperchase (!!!) and am loving it, I am having a pretty good week!
Ami x
