Excercise Books

Now that I am moving higher up in school, I have got a lot more studying and revision to do. To aid me with this, I have obviously been needing a lot of notebooks, and one for each subject could get quite pricey! Luckily, I had a star find on Amazon recently which I thought I should share with you.

1. First of all, I will show you my first find (which is basically the second but nowhere near as EPIC!). These are Silvine Excercise Books, they are A5 and come in a pack of 10. For these, you will be paying £5.86. They are in stock right now, but there are only 18 packs left. They do restock themselves though. Here is a look at them:

These come in a variety of colours but these are the cheapest. To find these on Amazon, just do a search for Excercise Books.

2. Now, my second find is virtually the same as my first, but in a size that I find easier to work with for revision. Again, these are a Silvine make, but this time they are £4.25 for a pack of 5. Again, they come in a variety of colours but these are the cheapest that I could find.

You can also get these books with squared paper, and ones that help with handwriting. These certainly will be my next investment!

I have had an idea!

Well, I will get straight to the point. It was my birthday yesterday, and I recieved a little red notebook and an erasable pen (brilliant!) from my Auntie and Uncle. These gave me an idea!

I am going to use the little red notebook to catalogue how much stationery costs from various places. I will let you know of my findings, but for now, I just want to let you know that this is something very exciting!

One thing that I will point out about supermarket websites is that they are VERY BAD. Not only do then not show and give details of all their stationery products, they also do not make it very clear what is only available online. HahemASDAhem. Yes, I'll admit it, their website is terrible for trying to find what you want in terms of stationery. Sorry ASDA, you did say that you wanted customer feedback. Hopefully my project will go well, I will report my findings to you!

Index Cards!

I absolutely LOVE one of my latest finds, index cards! I use them for so much, it is unbelievable. If you don't know what they are, here are some pictures:
OOH! I can add captions! This is the Tesco brand. You get 100 for 97p.
These are the ASDA brand - they have less and cost more.
Here are two pictures of index cards, one from Tesco and one from ASDA. The Tesco ones are better quality and value for money, I have had both.

Desking

Every once in a while, you will either need or want to treat yourself to a new desk, I'm going to soon! But which are the best? Which are most aesthetically pleasing? I have scoured the internet and found my favourite five:

5. Tvilum Scholar Desk - Staples - £49.99
This desk is compact and tidy, and has enough space to sit a laptop or computer. The price is a huge plus, especially because it is constantly is the sale (currently £25.91). However, for me this desk does not have enough storage space, I can imagine it getting untidy quickly.

4. MALM Desk - IKEA - £120
I like this desk better than the Tvilum Scholar because of the colour and storage space. However, this desk isn't the most aesthetical that I found.

3. Fraser Desk - Tesco - £98
I like this desk because it is a corner desk, and it has lots of storage space. The only this I don't personally like about it is the drawers, they don't look very... modern?

2. Seattle Desk - Tesco - £98
I LOVE this desk. I like the storage, the fact that it is a corner, the space it provides, the size of it... Blah blah blah... I could talk for hours. However, the number 1 on my list is better for one reason... The price.

1. LASSE Desk - IKEA - £45
Hmm... This desk won't let me change the size of the picture... Sorry!
I LOVE this desk! Well, I won't tell you why ask I would go on for WEEKS!

So, those are my top 5 desks. What are yours?

Felt Tip Pens - ASDA vs Staedtler

Many a time, I have been stuck as to wether to buy low price, supermarket's own brand felt tips, or to go for a higher quality pack that will last longer but will cost much more. Here I have grouped the advantages and disadvantages of each option.

ASDA - £0.22 10 Pack Fibre Tip Pens
Here is a picture of the ASDA smartprice Fibre Tip Pens. You can get these from Tesco and other major supermarkets (obviously their own brand). Cheap, middling quality.
Advantages -
The price.
The colours are fairly bright.

Disadvantages -
They don't last long.
There isn't a huge range of colours.
They squeek LOUDLY.

Yes, they'll see you through. However, if you have a higher budget and prefer high end quality to low end, then you might want to use:

These Staedtler Triplus Colour Pens are amazing! Not only will they last longer thsn the ASDA fibre tip pens, they also create more vibrant colours. Are there any disadvantages? Maybe just 1.

Advantages -
They are brilliant quality.
They are really bright.
They are comfortable to hold.
They don't squeek.
They give bold, clear lines.

Disadvantages -
They cost £5.80. That's 58p per pen.

So overall, which do I prefer? Low end, cheap, squeeky, supermarket own fibre tip pens? Or high quality, Staedtler, not very cheap triplus colour pens? Staedtler.

A4 Paper

I believe that A4 Paper is really underrated. REALLY underrated. It's brilliant, you can do all sorts with it! Sometimes, the reason that people don't buy paper is that they get completely and utterly BAFFLED. I know that I can never remember where is cheapest, without compromising quality. Well, here is my guide on the top 3 packs of 500 sheets of A4 Paper:

3. Tesco
This pack of paper is Tesco's own Home and Office multi-purpose paper. It is the cheapest they sell at Tesco (for 500 sheets), and you can buy a pack for £3.22.
What I like about this paper is that it is REALLY good quality. It is 80gsm, and really white. Anything works on it, pen, pencil, ink...

2. Staples
Next on the list is a pack of Staples' own paper, a pack of 500 sheets. It is slightly cheaper than the paper at Tesco, and could save you money if you were on a budget. This pack of paper is £3.

Why is that picture bigger than the other? Oh well. What I like about this paper is that, as with the Tesco paper, it is 80gsm and can be used with pen, pencil, ink, felt tips, crayons...

1. ASDA
I'm not a massive fan of ASDA, I think it is really overrated. However, the price of a pack of 500 sheets of paper is significantly cheaper than at either of the other two shops; the price is just £2.38.

This paper is really good both because of the price tag and because of the fact that it is also 80gsm. You can't go wrong!

I hope this post helped you, I love paper!

Hello Blogging World!

Hello!

My name is Ami, and one of my most passionate topics is stationery! I LOVE it! I could spend hours on a single stationery aisle in a supermarket, longer still in a whole stationery shop! I thought, why hide my hobby, why not EXPRESS it? So... I created this blog!

I intend on discussing a range of topics within the area of stationery, including useful items, great deals and offers, and where the best places to buy stationery are!

I hope you enjoy my blog, if you don't, them don't read it. It is as simple as that. I understand that not everybody will share my love of stationery, and that is FINE. Just so long as they don't let me know. I hope you enjoy reading my blog, and that you find it useful!
